How Websites Are Organized

University Communications organizes all University websites into a classification system for easier oversight.

Our Organizational Structure for Websites and Webesite Portfolios

In order to organize websites, the Web team classifies all sites as part of either the academic core, patient services, or Athletics and fan engagement enterprises.
The Academic Enterprise is a very large group of websites and essentially includes all sites that support the academic core mission of the University: this includes everything from the student lifecycle, to development and fundraising, research, and more.

Within each enterprise, sites can be further organized into portfolios. In the Academic Enterprise, there are many portfolios with their own strategic leads and content managers. To find out who manages different area websites, browse this page.
