Tactical Sites

A Tactical Site is a specific, content-strategy related Website that provides a means for managing content in one place and allowing that content to be aggregated and surfaced on a number of different sites. Some examples are central sites for search, people information, place information, operating status updates, news, video, etc...

News & Events Sites

Our main news and events site-- complemented by news subsites managed by separate University organizations-- allows news content to be propogated and displayed on the pages of other Websites. The image below shows that the news stories from a given News Subsite can be displayed on an Interior Page, News List in two different ways. In addition, news can be displayed on a Landing Page using the Marketing Panel w/ News Visual Layer.

Alerts: Operating Status Website

The Alerts site can allow contributors to submit operating status updates like parking lot and road closures, utiulity outages, and systems outages. Rather than limiting the alerts updates to only the alerts site, the filtered status updates can then be shared on other sites.

People Website

The UM People Site contains profile pages for every active University employee. A majority of the content comes from Workday, but additional details can be added to a People Profile page on the site. In addition, the site allows individuals to build lists of people and then surface those lists on other Websites.
