Supplemental Brand Sites

A Supplemental Brand is a scheme that is defined for a site that does not match the presentation for an organization's Primary or Complementary Brands. These are typically developed for Web properties that cannot use the scheme available for the rest of the sites in the area's ecosystem.

Supplemental Brand Site

Supplemental Brand sites are typically defined when the area is engaged in establishing their Primary Brand scheme. Part of the engagement process is an audit of all existing sites, and those sites that present a case for a completely unique standalone scheme are usually fleshed out during planning.

Below is an example of the Office of the Provost's Primary Brand Master and Primary Brand Subsite. Raised above these sites is the Toppel Career Center site, which organizationally falls within the purview of the Office of the Provost, but which uses a Supplemental Brand that has no relationship with the Office of the Provost's Primary Brand scheme.
